Never Give Up

Editorial By Raven Simons, June 2009

I have found myself in profound depression the last while because of the overwhelming support of Extreme Animal Rights (AR) activists’ attempts to sever the relationships with our animal friends that we hold dear or try to breed and prevent extinction in the wild. Some of us realize that the wild is shrinking far and fast. Species are becoming extinct before we can get to know them.

AR individuals view human beings as debased, unredeemable, user creatures. Pure animals would be better off without us, humans. If this means extinction forever, so be it.

Loss of habitat, climate change, and genetic diversity does not concern the extreme animal rights people. They see domestic pet cats and dogs as slaves, no better or worse than the exploitation of African Americans or the Holocaust.

Reasonable humans believe the propaganda put out by HSUS (Humane Society of the United States), PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), and BCR (Big Cat Rescue) and do not investigate the true history and ideology and history of the organizations, themselves.

A recent Atlanta news report (quickly squashed) revealed that the funds donated to the HSUS for the pet survivors of Hurricane Katrina were under investigation. The influence and money of the HSUS political propaganda machine quickly denied free speech not only to the Atlanta news source, but also to all Youtube and other re-broadcasts of the news edition.

Imagine the financial and political power behind that.

The relentless HSUS propaganda machine is wearing down legislators time and time again. HSUS opposes “no kill shelters” and TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) programs for feral unadoptable cats. They target responsible breeders and call them “puppy or kitten mills”. The laws that they encourage do not help animals. What they do accomplish are illegal caretakers of feral cat colonies, criminal status for poor people unable to afford to comply to the restrictive legislation, rural people who do not have easy veterinarian access, and the criminalization of veterinarians who do not support early spay and neuters.

The evil influence of HSUS and PETA will only end when they no longer get money for their directors and followers. Every dollar given to them takes away from your local shelter. I’m lucky that I live in a “No More Homeless Pets” state. I am also fortunate to live in a city that believes in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) of feral cats.

I’m tired of fighting the “same old, same old”! What would happen if I refuse to fight? I don’t know. I hate politics and find myself mired in them no matter what organization I try and volunteer for. REXANO is unique because it is NOT an (paid memebership)organization.

I have decided to continue the fight in my own state despite my upsets with others and other organizations.

Please fight on I’ve decided to continue to try my best efforts despite setbacks from others and myself. I can’t seem to give up: Never give up!
