What have responsible owners, done, could do, etc...?

Responsible owners have set examples of how truly stunning, thrilling and rewarding having a relationship with a wild animal can be. Their dedication to wild breeds, their behaviors, and relating to them, have enabled the public to enjoy the legacies of the wild animals up close and personally.

They have contributed to a healthy gene pool for conservation purposes. They need to be able to keep doing this, to set examples for the public, to show the magnificence of these great creatures -- especially for those who cannot travel far to see these creatures in their wild habitat. To have a personal, up-close experience with these animals creates caring, appreciation for our wildlife and the earth. This needs to be done over and over again.

Good-intentioned laws that prohibit this will eventually separate us from our wilderness, from our Earth and our appreciation and caring. We will learn and think we can live without them.
